The passion for photography that Steven has was seeded with black and white film photography as a hobby when he was 12. In the years following, the knowledge and experience gained continues to expand. It is this caliber of photography that Mr. Simpkins consistently delivers, landing him in the New York Times, Chicago Tribune, San Francisco Chronicle, Midland Daily News, Michigan Home and Lifestyle Magazine and Associated Press among others.
Steven began photographing weddings professionally at the age of 19 and opened up his studio in 1996. He also has 17 years experience with the graphics and printing industry. This puts him in a optimal position to work with designers and project managers.
What I do
Steven still maintains a darkroom for his personal use in the pursuit of art. This sharpens his skills in all facets of client work, where Steven uses current state of the art digital cameras, lenses and editing tools to offer the best possible quality. Steven will still, on occasion, throw in a piece of vintage equipment to achieve that unique authentic look that can only be achieved with the right stuff.
